I love this frame grab. It's the result of a LOT of hard work done by a lot of people over a significant period of time. The foreground features Josh Truax (Nebraska Higgins) and Branson Anderson (Jerry) filmed in an Everett airpline hanger in August of '07 and the background plate with Michael Donovan (Arizona Higgins) emanating from a large outdoor video billboard was shot just a couple months ago. The work is…Continue
Norwescon 34 was a blast. Ian and I (Phil) had a great time talking to people about Project London selling copies of Project Manhattan (Prequel Novella) and the Project London Graphic Novel, but we also enjoyed…Continue

Preparations for Norwescon 34 are in full swing and almost complete. Ian and I (Phil) will be manning the Project London display this Friday, Saturday and Sunday where you'll be able to see the new trailer and hear the screaming new mix that Paul Miller has just completed. You will also be able to purchase a limited number of author autographed copies of…
Wow. The last few weeks have been amazing and the coming weeks look equally packed with energizing activity. First up, Ian and I are getting excited to bring our traveling road show to Norwescon 34, April 22-24. Among the autographed copies of Project Manhattan, the Project…

The Emerald City Comicon was an absolutely amazing experience. We met so many wonderful people. A really great moment happened on the first day when Travers Cleeman showed up at our display and told us he had traveled from Australia to pop in at the con and our display (all the way in the back of the hall)…Continue

The Emerald City Comicon is the Premier Comic Book & Pop Culture Convention in the Pacific Northwest and the perfect place for Spiral Productions to debut a graphic novel and prequel novella from the Project London Universe, a new Project London trailer, and feature appearances by the director, actors and book authors. Bryan Hubert, Ian's dad, is joining the Sound Design Team as Lead Sound Editor! Bryan is a long time audio aficionado as seen in the photo above left, appreciating Ian's early warbling. Fast forward to the picture above right, and we can see the father son team as solidly bonded and unaware of their future sonic collaboration on the movie that will eat your planet. Bryan is excited to join the project and we are delighted to have access to his talent, enthusiasm, and recording…Continue

The last pickup shoot officially wrapped a few minutes ago. Seen here in this photo (L to R): Barry Gregg (DP), Ian Hubert (Writer Director) and Michael Donovan (Arizona). Not pictured, Brad Notman (Sound).
Finally! Done! Thank you Barry, Michael and Brad!
There is now a perfect storm of activity brewing as we try to get everything done at once! Some of the fun things we are working on…Continue
I am really pleased to tell you that Project Manhattan, the prequel novella to Project London is just about finished. Caleb Wheeler has written a corker. No lie! Evidence: The images (above) behind the Project Manhattan book cover are scans of the backs of my eyeballs soon after reading the…Continue

Ladies and Gentlement, as of 26 October 2010, 2:27pm, we have PICTURE LOCK!
Three pieces of news:
Ian, Nate and I met this morning to review the input we collected from the v.14 test screening. It was a great discussion and we made a lot of decisions about what we want to do to achieve picture lock. Some of the ideas that people suggested were amazing and we're looking at how we might implement a few of them. But, have no fear, we are moving with all speed to wrap things up and get to picture lock ASAP! Ian is leading the charge, so if he contacts… Continue
Just seven hours ago this group of people got to see and review Project London v.14. It was exhilarating to see this version of the movie projected and to see how far we have come in our ability to manage the narrative. The discussion following the screening was lively, but I have to say one of the best moments for me was hearing my new friend Bodhi, a 6-year-old member of our screening audience, say to… Continue
(L to R: Director, Ian Hubert; Paul Miller; Brendan Hogan, back; Mike Meyer, forward; Michael Martz; Brad Notman, we like his shirt a lot; Trevor Dutton; Simon Jeker; Laura Edenfield)
(The composited image above is from a new scene featuring Michael Donovan and Jen Page.)
The Spiral Productions Edit System is back up and running, Project London media has been restored and Ian is going through all the edit timelines checking for missing media and broken links. We are probably just a day or two away from being able to start a new backup (it takes about 21 hours to backup the movie). Yeah!
